IAHS invited Prof. Robert Bellah to visit Beijing for 18 days. During the visit, Prof. Bellah participated in the Beijing Forum as a keynote speaker. Beijing Forum and IAHS co-hosted a dialogue between Prof. Tu Weiming and Prof. Bellah on axial age civilizations. Additionally, Prof. Bellah gave lectures at the “Xuyun Lecture Series” of the Academy of Religious Studies of Peking University, “Yanjing Lecture Series for the Arts” in the Institute of Advanced Studies for Humanities and Religions at Beijing Normal University, and the Institute of World Religions at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.  Robert N. Bellah is professor emeritus of University of California-Berkeley. As a renowned sociologist, Prof. Bellah was awarded the National Humanities Medal by President Clinton in 2000.
