The Inauguration Ceremony of IAHS was held in Tau Siu Jen Center for International Studies, Peking University. President Zhou Qifeng, Executive Vice-President Wu Zhipan, Vice-President Liu Wei, Vice-President Li Yansong, Prof. Tu Weiming, Director of IAHS, and representatives from related department and research centers gave congratulatory remarks at the ceremony. In the afternoon, a round-table discussion on “Ideals of Humanism and the Spiritual Side of the University” was held; leaders from various schools and departments participated in the discussion. The establishment and inauguration of IAHS seeks to further humanistic research in Peking University through inter-disciplinary and inter-departmental collaborations, and the program of the inauguration ceremony reflected IAHS’s vision and methods to work in collaboration with various related departments and centers both within and outside of Peking University.
